20 Doubts

Doubts,
doubts, doubts ... christians must deal with them
daily. I dealt with mine over many many years, having
attended my dad's Southern Baptist church religiously
from birth 'til departure to college. Here are the top 20
doubts which led me to eventually (after a long journey
through the christian, agnostic, and atheist perspectives)
become a FREELOVER ...
Feel
free to address these doubts:
1)
Is the bible the word of god?
2)
How do I know the bible is the word of god?
3)
Isn't it quite probable if not all but certain that the bible
is the reflection of ancient humans, one of many cultures
throughout the world, who justified their actions (often
actions of murder, rape, genocide) against other humans
by virtue of invisible and silent creatures, a common practice
amongst early human cultures?
4)
Why is the bible god so mean and evil and immoral, by
modern standards?
5)
Why do people suffer so much?
6)
Why would god throw people into a horrible eternal
torment (the worst torment imaginable)?
7)
Why is god more hateful, mean, and incredibly evil
than the worst human who has ever lived?
8)
Why are there so many religions?
9)
Why is god so silent?
10)
Why do religions teach god answers prayer when
obviously god does not answer prayer?
11)
Why is the bible christ myth preceded by many other
christ myths from a wide array of cultures?
12)
Why are there so many contradictions in the bible?
13)
Why did my sister, the most faithful and god-fearing
member of my family, next to my Southern Baptist preacher
father and my christian choir-leader mother, die a horrific
death at a young age (leaving 3 young boys and her husband
behind), if there is a god or a christ?
14)
Why weren't any prayers answered involving my sister?
15)
Why was a young 5 year old boy inflicted with a disease
which only humans could address and which he suffers from
to this very day, outside of any concern from god (reference
to me and my suffering from diabetes since the age of 5)?
16)
Why do christians insist on "getting them while their young"
if your faith has any logical or moral standing whatsoever?
17)
Is brainwashing a defensible motif for faith-following?
18)
How do you feel about faith-followers and church leaders
reading the edicts in the bible and acting on the worst aspects
of those edicts, resulting in horrific acts against humanity?
19)
Is the christian god the god of love or the god of hate or
both?
20)
Given the afore-mentioned 19 doubts, are you a) surprised,
b) disappointed, c) envious, d) full of condemnation, e) bemused,
f) couldn't care less, g) curious, h) sympathetic and understanding,
or i) congratulatory and supportive ... that I am a FREELOVER?
